Frequently Asked Questions

Will my clothes get messy?
Clay doesn’t stain—so whether you’re dressed up for the rest of your night or come casual, you’ll be just fine. We like to dress up a bit, but totally up to you.

Are tickets refundable or transferable?
Due to the small nature of these events, tickets are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to a later date. Please triple check your calendar before booking.
If you can’t make it, you’re welcome to give your ticket to a friend—just let us know their name ahead of time.

When will my piece be ready?
Finished pieces will be ready 1–3 weeks after class. You’ll have a 2-week window to pick them up, two designated time slots for pickup will be offered.
We’ll send an email with pickup details and usually offer two group pickup days. If you need to coordinate something different, just email us. We are also happy to put your things in an uber courier.

I am visiting from out of town, can you ship my piece?

Of course! We can happily ship your piece for an extra fee of 25$

What’s included?
Each guest gets 1.5 lbs of clay and we’ll fire and glaze your piece (typically in blue or clear, depending on the class).
If you're attending a multi-session series, you'll have the option to customize your glaze.
Need a little extra clay to finish your project? Don’t worry—we’ve got loads of clay.

Can I take my piece home the same night?
Nope! Clay takes time to dry, fire, and glaze. Your finished piece will be ready for pickup in a few weeks, fully functional and beautiful.

Is wine served?
Yes! Wine is served complimentary with class, unless you choose the BYOB option
You must be 21+ with a valid ID to enjoy our beverages. We also offer water and light bites.

Should I eat before class?
Yes, please do! While we serve light bites, we’ll be working on our pieces for 2+ hours and standing for most of it—so it’s best to come nourished. Seating is available if you need to take a break.

What should I bring?
Just yourself! We provide everything you need—clay, tools, and good vibes.

What’s the studio setup like?
We have coat hangers and a private bathroom for guests.
Please note: Our Brooklyn studio is not currently wheelchair accessible, but our popup events will be. If you have accessibility needs, reach out and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Can I book a private event?
Absolutely—email us at hello@smallthingsny.com with some details and we’ll coordinate something special.
